I write this during an unusually oppressive summer where there is no escape from the heat. Looking to the future shows even hotter summers to come due to climate change. This latest album by L'Avenue presents an idea and an image of the ideal summer: a relaxing summer, an enjoyable, beautiful, wet summer. These smooth synthscapes make me imagine a summer with shade and a pool, a daiquiri and a cool ocean breeze. L'Avenue have given me 25 minutes where my mind is free while my body sweats.
